Silent Sunset Hike The transition from day to night is a wonderful time to experience the rhythm of nature and to reflect. The air cools, the wind stills and the land grows quiet. Enjoy a silent hike in nature and watch the sunset over the hills. Silence and whispering are encouraged on this hike to take in the natural silence of the park. Be prepared for hiking in low light conditions.

Birthday Burro Hike Join local burros for a special birthday hike to celebrate Cerrillos Hills State Park's 17th birthday! Ranger Brynn will guide you through 1,100 years of mining history and share about the historical significance of pack burros in the mountain west. The invitation is open to the public, local burros, and their handlers to join the fun! We will cover a 1.5-mile loop on Jane Calvin Sanchez Trial and the county road. Expect some hiking uphill and varied surfaces ranging from sandy to rocky. Pack snacks, and water, and wear sturdy shoes. Dogs are not recommended to attend this hike.
