Pack Burro Race & Art in the Park Join us for the Turquoise Trail Pack Burro Race in historic Cerrillos. Take your pick of scenic viewing points from inside Cerrillos Hills State Park to cheer on more than 75 race teams as they follow a 3 or 6-mile course passing by historic mine sites. As racers move through the park, The Amigos hosts Art in the Park on the Visitor Center grounds 9am - 3 pm. Park visitor center event is free. Donations to the Amigos are welcome. Race spectators or hikers in the park are subject to the regular parking fees. Plan to carpool or park early as parking space in village is limited.

Forest Bathing in Cerrillos Hills Join certified Forest Therapy Guide, Roxanne Darling, for a mindful walk through the Cerrillos Hills. Started in Japan in the 1980s, Forest Bathing has been shown to reduce stress, uplift your mood, and connect you back to nature. Space is limited. Moon Hike Join this guided hike to learn interesting lunar facts and folklore! We will take time to observe the moon through the park's spotting telescope. Be prepared to hike in low light conditions. Red light flashlights will be provided.
